The Board has approved the use of the myCertificate system. This is very exiting venture that will streamline the issuing of certificates and assist SAPFED in building a database of members’ biographic information and a record of their continuous training history.
The certificates that will be created are digital originals that are accepted by SASSETA and the Department of Labour. The digital certificate has a QR code that will display the full certificate when scanned by a mobile cellphone, thereby preventing the production of fraudulent certificates. All certificates will automatically be stored in each members own online vault as well as in the SAPFED vault after being issued. New membership certificates will be mailed to each paid-up member and can be accessed in the members vault when needed. After a training session for example, a congratulatory email with the certificate attached as a PDF file will be sent to the member who attended the continuous training. This will enable SAPFED to draw reports and give statistical feedback to its members on various aspects. This system will also assist in generating and distributing correspondence concerning expired memberships.
New membership certificates will be issued as members pay their membership fees. Please also note that you can use you own personal SAPFED vault (secured with your own password) to save and store additional relevant documentation. Look out for your digital membership certificate notification in the mail.
NEW POLICY ON MEMBERSHIP FEES
SAPFED has maintained a positive bank balance for the 2016/17 financial year due to diligent payment of membership fees by our members.
The Board has decided not to increase the membership fees for 2017. It will therefore remain at R750.00 per year. Invoices were sent out in January 2017 and fees were payable by 31 January 2017.
New members joining between 1 January and 30 June will pay a fee of R750.00, while those joining between 1 July and 31 December will pay a membership fee of R350.00. The administration fee has been abolished.
